Raise the profile of care work in Ross-on-Wye

Carework is one of the most rewarding professions but has had a really bad press in recent years. Ignore the hype and look at the facts.

Care work opens up a whole field of career opportunities with your local community as your workplace. Care work is a profession in its own right with many carers taking degrees in social care. It is a gateway to a nursing qualification with on the job courses adding points for your UCAS entry. There are administrative and management roles and many opportunities for entrepreneurs to build their own businesses.

With an ageing population, carework is a growing sector and good carers are always in demand.

Flexible hours suit most people. This doesn’t mean that there are no worker protections or benefits. It doesn’t mean that every job in care has flexible hours.

It takes a special person to care for their neighbours. Contact us to find out more.

Advance the integration agenda for Health and Social Care

The integration of Health and Social Care is seen as an important step in improving the nations care services. The foundations are being laid for this integration to take place. The Ross Care Group is working to link up with all the agencies involved in providing care in our community

In practical terms, we believe that this integration will enable carers that visit their clients every day to carry out more of the necessary tasks during that visit. This will fulfill one of the key requests we get from our clients and that is to spend more time with their regular carer.

Ross Care Group is located within the South and West Herefordshire Primary Care Network which extends from Ross on Wye to Hay on Wye.
